What is All-On-4 dental implants?
Simply put, the procedure gives a fixed arch of teeth with just four dental implants. While a traditional dental implant procedure requires 6–8 dental implants to replace all the teeth in a single row, All-on-4 revolutionises all aspects of dental restoration, including All on 4 costs in Melbourne.
Since it was introduced in 1998 by Nobel Care, All-on-4 has transformed the smile of several millions of people with a success rate of over 98 per cent.
As a trusted name for All-on-4 dental implants Melbourne, we provide restorations with immediate prosthetics after the procedure.
All On 4 procedure steps at The Smile Designer
The entire procedure is generally completed in two to three appointments. Our expert implant dentists simplify things for you and ensure you get a customised treatment based on your needs.
STEP 1
Before beginning the procedure, we usually administer a local anaesthesia to help you get a painless treatent experience. If you have any teeth left on the jaw, we will remove them and prepare your jawbone.
STEP 2
We will drill the jawbone at the correct All on 4 dental implant positions — mentioned in the treatment plan — and place the implants inside. Gum flaps are placed back with sutures for healing. We take your dental impressions and scans to prepare a custom denture at a dental laboratory. These temporary teeth are delivered and inserted within 24–48 hours, with some cases on the same day.
STEP 3
3–6 months after surgery, once all implants and soft tissues have healed, the final dental bridges are made and inserted.
STEP 4
We will also give you specific maintenance and care tips for your implants and dentures to ensure long-lasting results.

Who can get All-On-4?
Though All-on-4 is designed for patients with all or significant teeth loss, not everyone is eligible to get the procedure. People who have significant jawbone loss may not be eligible. Also, patients with complex general or oral health conditions or people who can’t receive invasive procedures may not be able to receive the All-on-4 procedure.
Please visit The Smile Designer for a dental implant consultation. Our dentists will confirm whether the All-on-4 procedure can be the choice for your dental restoration needs.
Other options we may present you with include, but are not limited to, overdentures that are supported by 2 or 4 implants, as well as fixed hybrid implant dentures that are supported by 4 to 6 implants. There are many variations as to what is possible, and our team will guide you through these options and fees.
The All On 4 implants process
The All on 4 technique uses longer dental implants that are placed on an angle which engages parts of the jawbone where there is sufficient existing bone.
In some cases, the procedure can be done where our patients receive “teeth in a day”, where the dental restorations are fabricated and inserted within a short period of time.
Sometimes though, the best option will be to place six implants, sometimes called All-on-6 or All on X, and having a fixed implant bridge, or a removable implant supported denture.

Consultation & tailored treatment planning
During the initial consultation, we will listen to you and check your teeth, gums, and jawbone to fully understand the issue. Based on our visual examination, we may take digital X-rays and images of your mouth to learn the anatomy of your oral structure, and check your current oral and general health condition as well as your treatment history. Our dentists will advise you and guide you to the correct approach — we also have an extensive network of dentists and surgeons that we work with.
Our implant dentist will then create a tailored treatment plan based on your oral condition and your expectations — with all the details of the procedure, including the number of dental visits, the need for any tooth removal, the positions of the implants in your jaw, the recovery period, the outcome from the treatment, and more.

FAQ's about All-On-4
Our dentists have answered some of your most frequently asked questions about All-on-4 to help you understand the process a little better. For more information on our services, contact us today on (03) 9089 7574.
How much does All-on-4 cost?
The price of All-on-4 dental implants varies significantly based on individual circumstance. However, the general price in Australia varies from $28,000 – $35,000 per arch. There are two parts to an All-on-4 procedure: the first is implanting the arches; the second consists of the tooth bridge, which is placed on the implants — this bridge is what usually impacts the price, as it can be made from a variety of materials, each differing in cost. All on 4 treatment costs start at $28,000 per jaw; a unique treatment plan will be required prior to giving you actual costs. At our consultations, and after reviewing the necessary dental records, our team can help you develop a treatment plan with quotes to suit your goals.
How to clean All-on-4 dental implants?
It’s important to take care of your All-on-4 dental implants by sticking to a daily dental health care routine and maintaining good oral hygiene. Brush your dental implants twice a day with a good quality brush, floss once per day or use a water flosser if needed. Ensure you’re removing any food particles that could get stuck in your implants and regularly cleaning your gums. For more information on cleaning practices, contact our expert team today.
What are the benefits of All on 4 treatment?
Those who are missing teeth, or who have retained a few of their own damaged teeth, or those who suffer from periodontal disease and require a whole new set of teeth can benefit from implant supported fixed and removable dentures of the All on 4 system. The system is particularly useful where there is minimal bone remaining, and the implants help in the retention and stability of dentures.
What is All-on-4 dental implants?
All-on-4 dental implants are a popular restorative procedure where you replace the entire row of either your upper or lower teeth. It’s an advanced procedure where you get a full arch of teeth with just four implants.
What is All on 4?
Advanced dental technology and the improvements in the way we practice dentistry mean that we are able to provide enhanced surgical procedures while not compromising on cosmetics.
Is All on 4 the same as 'teeth in a day'?
The All on 4 approach is sometimes referred to as ‘teeth in a day’, a label that invokes the relative ease and rapid treatment timeline for this procedure. But we like to emphasise to our patients that same-day results are actually rare, and the treatment outcome will depend on each individual’s circumstances and will be discussed in detail. Sometimes, a more conservative plan is needed, performed in phases, in order to deliver higher quality results with greater consistency.
